This page says how Playquire decides what to publish, how a story is sourced, when it is updated and who answers for it.
Independence
Publishers, developers, platform holders and advertisers have no say in what we cover, what we write or how we score. Nobody outside the desk sees a story before it publishes. Review code, press trips and hardware loans are accepted under the terms in the ethics policy and never in exchange for coverage.
Sourcing
A factual claim needs a source we can name, a document we have seen, or something we have played or tested ourselves. Reporting that rests on an anonymous source is checked by a second person, and the source is known to the editor. Rumours, leaks and unconfirmed reports are labelled as such in the headline or the first paragraph, never presented as fact. Leaked material is reported on, not rehosted.
Reviews
Every review is played by the person whose name is on it, and the verdict box states the platform, the version, the hours played and where the code came from. The review policy covers the scale, the playtime minimums, embargoes and re-reviews.
Updates and corrections
A story that changes after publication carries an updated date. A story that is still moving carries a Developing notice until it settles. Errors are corrected in the story with a dated notice that says what changed; the corrections policy explains how to request one and how fast we act.
Sponsored and affiliate content
Sponsored content is labelled as sponsored wherever it appears and is never presented as editorial. Affiliate links carry a note on the page. Neither affects what we cover or how we score it. Details are in the ethics and affiliate disclosure.
Headlines and images
Headlines describe the story and do not promise what the story does not deliver. Screenshots are our own captures unless credited, and captions say what they show and on which platform.
Accountability
The editor named on the team page is responsible for everything Playquire publishes. Concerns about a story, a score or a source go through the contact form and are answered by a person.
