Playquire is a video games publication founded in 2026. It exists for people who want to know what is worth their time. Play more of what is worth playing.
What we cover
Reviews come first. Every one is played by the person whose name is on it, on a stated platform and version, for a stated number of hours, and it says where the code came from. Then news that is confirmed and sourced, guides verified against the current patch, features and interviews, and hardware where it touches play.
Three things we do not do: launder rumours into news, run sponsored reviews, or write lists from press releases.
How reviews work
Scores run from 1 to 10 on the Playquire scale, and the band word next to the score is the only adjective a score gets: essential, recommended, worth a look, flawed, skip. A 5 is a flawed game, not a broken one. Publishers see nothing before publication and get no say in the score. The review policy has the bands, the playtime minimums and what happens after a major patch.
The games database
Every game we cover gets a hub that outlives its launch week: every story, guide and the review in one place, with the facts, the release countdown and the patch history. Browse the games database, the release calendar or the platform pages.
Who makes it
Every byline is a real person with a public profile: what they cover, how long they have covered it, their credentials and where else to find them. No story publishes under an incomplete profile. Meet the team.
How we are accountable
Six short policies say how the desk works and what you can hold us to: the editorial policy, the review policy and scoring, corrections, ethics and affiliate disclosure, fact-checking and the terms of use. Corrections are noted in the story, dated, and never made silently.
Reach the desk
Tips, press enquiries and correction requests all go through the contact form, and a person reads every message. Sources are protected.
